Prof. Yazid, a Professor of Paediatrics at the Faculty of Medicine, Universiti Malaya, and a Senior Consultant Paediatric Endocrinologist at UMMC, was recently honored with the Outstanding Asian Paediatrician Award 2024. This prestigious recognition was presented during the 18th Asia-Pacific Congress of Pediatrics 2024, held in Cebu, Philippines, from 14-17 November 2024.
The award is a testament to Prof. Yazid’s extraordinary contributions to paediatrics, not only as a dedicated practitioner but also as an inspiring educator.
Adding to this achievement, Action4Diabetes (A4D) has welcomed Prof. Yazid to their team of Voluntary Medical Advisors. In this role, he will contribute to improving health outcomes for individuals with Type 1 Diabetes (T1D) by supporting education and capacity-building initiatives. Prof. Yazid expressed his gratitude and enthusiasm for this opportunity:
“It is an honour for me to give back and volunteer with Action4Diabetes as one of their Medical Advisors. Working with Prof. May Ng and the rest of the medical advisory team toward improving T1D health outcomes through continual T1D education and health capacity building is something close to my heart.”
