On 17 April 2025, the Clinical Investigation Centre (CIC), UMMC hosted Gemilang Raya: CIC Appreciation Luncheon—a heartwarming gathering that brought together Principal Investigators, Study Coordinators, and clinical research support staff in a celebration of togetherness and achievement.
The event was held at Bilik Konferens 3, Menara Selatan and featured festive Raya cuisine, vibrant camaraderie, and the spirit of appreciation for all who contribute to the advancement of clinical research at CIC.
The afternoon began with an opening address by Professor Dr. Maznah Dahlui, Head of the Department of Research, Development, and Innovation (JPPI), who emphasized the importance of research excellence and collaboration. This was followed by remarks from Professor Dr. Lim Soo Kun, Head of the Clinical Investigation Centre (CIC), who expressed gratitude for the contributions of clinical trial staff and partners. The ceremony was officiated by Professor Dr. Nazirah Hasnan, Director of UMMC, who commended the resilience and dedication of the CIC team in advancing patient-centered research. The event continued with the much-anticipated Study Coordinator Awards Ceremony, celebrating outstanding contributions and dedication among CIC’s research team.
Awards were presented to outstanding Study Coordinators in recognition of their dedication, teamwork, and contributions to quality research. Long-service tokens of appreciation were also given to team members who have grown with CIC through the years.
The celebration served not only as a gesture of festive appreciation but also a tribute to the unseen efforts that make every trial possible. From investigator-initiated studies to international collaborations, CIC continues to thrive because of the people behind the scenes.
