On 4 August 2025, Universiti Malaya Medical Centre (UMMC) and Fortrea officially marked a milestone partnership with the launch of the UMMC-Fortrea Synergy Hub. This collaboration reflects a shared vision: placing sites and investigators at the forefront of trial planning and operations to simplify trial delivery and expand healthcare options.
Fortrea is a global clinical research organization serving pharmaceutical, biotechnology, and medical device customers across the clinical trial continuum—from early development to commercialization. With deep therapeutic expertise across key areas including oncology, infectious diseases, and neurology, Fortrea brings global reach and innovation into the Malaysian research landscape.
UMMC is proud to be Fortrea’s first clinical site collaboration in Malaysia, joining a global network of over 50 countries and regions. With over 11 collaborative studies conducted over the past three years, UMMC has consistently delivered excellence—achieving 100% First Patient Enrollment, with key highlights including:
- 🥇 Top Recruiter in Oncology (NSCLC) – 2nd highest in APAC, 5th globally.
- 🌐 Global First Recruiter in Hepatitis C trials.
